Comunicado a la opinión pública Incidente controlado

Today, Friday, August 29, at approximately 1:10 p.m., an incident occurred within the facilities of our cement production plant located in the town of Pacasmayo, specifically in one of the conveyor belts that transports material from the calcination kiln to the storage silo for that material (clinker).

An unexpected voltage drop caused the conveyor belt to overheat. As the belt is made of rubber, localized fire quickly developed on the same belt, completely damaging it. This incident generated smoke that lasted for approximately 35 minutes.

Our personnel acted swiftly and applied our safety and emergency response protocols. At this time, the incident has been fully controlled, and we have verified that it did not cause any personal injuries among workers, nor any additional material damage to the plant’s facilities. It also did not result in any interruption of our operations. Our maintenance team is currently working on replacing the belt and reinforcing the relevant controls to prevent any similar incidents in the future.

Although the incident has been fully controlled, our company reaffirms its commitment to transparency, in line with the information provided through this statement. Likewise, we renew our commitment to continue operating under the highest industry standards.
